Simply put, it does not constitute completely free healthcare.

What is gap payment?

Is it possible to know the cost of my appointment before I come in?

Our reception team strives to provide you with the most precise cost estimates for your appointment in advance. However, it’s important to remember that billing is determined by your doctor and the reception team can only advise you based on the information you give. Additionally, the nature of your consultation could change during your appointment.

The cost of your medical appointment may vary based on several key factors considered by your doctor, such as the duration of your appointment, the number of issues addressed, and whether any procedures are involved. Doctors strive to maintain a consistent gap payment across different types of appointments to minimize financial variability for patients.

A non-attendance fee of $35 is applied to all appointments not cancelled at least 2 hours before the scheduled time and must be settled before any subsequent appointments.

Is pre-registration required for a new patient before their first visit?

Yes and no. We provide online registration forms in this website for new patients, whether they have Medicare or not, or even if they are foreigners or tourists.

Completing the form prior to the visit significantly aids us and other patients by reducing the workload and wait time at the reception. For those who prefer not to register online, a printable offline form is also available.

That said, Willoglen Medical Center still welcomes new patients in our Kearny’s Spring, Toowoomba clinic without pre-registration.
